About Hostel Croydon
Right in the heart of Amsterdam, just a stone's throw from the Royal Palace, between Dam Square and the Red Light District and only a 5 minutes walk to the central train station, lies Hostel Croydon budget Amsterdam hostel rooms.
All the bathrooms are in side the private and mixed dorm rooms except Twin,triple and Quad are shared bathrooms. Bathrooms are located next to the rooms.
All the rooms are renovated in 2009.
Dam Square is a two minute walk away and a great place to get your bearings. From here you can head west to Anne Frank's house, south to the Van Gogh museum and east to Rembrandt's house. There are canal tours galore, coffee shops left, right and centre and exhibits that will make your head spin.
The Dutch capital is a city like no other. Where else can you find guided tours of a red light district, Rembrandt's house, the Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank's house, Tulips, 'coffee shops' and cheap beer? Old blends into new, radical squatter art installations hang off 17th century eaves, BMW's give way to bicycles and triple strength, monk brewed beer is served up in minimalist cafes. And Hostel Croydon is your first culture stop in this over the top Dutch city.

The Hotel Croydon does not charge you in advance.
Our cancellation policy dictates 72 hours advanced notification prior to arrival. Cancellation need to be done by e-mail. Cancellation by phone will not be accepted.
Your room will be hold for 2 hours (AMS time) after your given arrival time, after this time we have the right to charge your first night stay.
The 5% city tax is not included in the price and must be paid on arrival together with the total amount left to pay.

Important Information
We have got a 72-Hour cancellation policy. This means that if you would like to cancel or change your booking, you have to cancel 3 days before the given arrival time to avoid any charges.
In case you don’t show up on your booking, your credit card is charged for the 1st night of your stay, the rest of the booking will be cancelled.
Always send your name, reference number and reservation details with your cancellation request. This way the reservation can be found in our system.
Your booking is cancelled when you receive a personal e-mail reply confirming your cancellation. If you do not receive this confirmation it means the cancellation is not processed.

Directions
If you step out of the Central Station, follow the road in front of you called Damrak (this is the main street from Central Station). Once you're on the Damrak, take a first left walking towards 'The Grasshopper'. Take a second right and you're in the Warmoesstreet. Here, on the left side, you'll see 'Hostel Croydon' at number 75.

Très rudimentaire, il ne faut pas s'attendre à un super hotel quand on choisit les dortoirs. Cependant, rien de scandaleux à signaler, le personnel n'est pas désagréable, les chambres sont assez propres sans être irréprochables. Bref, si on veut dormir pour pas cher en étant bien situé on peut y aller. Cependant si vous recherchez vraiment du confort passez votre chemin. Des casiers sont disponibles dans les chambres pour y ranger votre valise. Cadenas et clefs de chambre = 5€ de caution chacun. Très bon point: l'auberge est ouverte 24h/24. On peut vraiment rentrer à n'importe quelle heure, la boutique de gauffres étant tout le temps ouverte et donc prête à vous ouvrir.
Pour info: Pour entrer dans l'immeuble où il y a les chambres il faut biper pour que les serveurs du magasin de gauffres juste à côté (et qui fait office de réception) appuie sur un bouton pour vous ouvrir (sous présentation de votre carte avec le numéro de chambre écrit dessus).

The door of the room was broken.
The cleaning was very bad (dirtiy bathroom, dirty corridors, dirty dorms)

Very bad hostel. The worst I have ever been in all my trips around Europe. The only good thing, the location.
When we arrived the lock of the room was broken and they offered us another room with a broken door as well!! A non-sense at all! We stayed at the first room because we had already payed when they told us about this problem.
The room was quite dirty and the shower and sink drainage were stucked. Moreover the next day, when they cleaned the room our sandals, "nightwear" and towels disappeared....and they did not have any economic worth...
Finally, the rooms don't look like the picture and some of my mates and me got some sort of bug bites.
THERE ARE MANY BETTER PLACES FOR A BUDGET PRICE. DON'T DOUBT IT!!!!!!

A Council: to continue to search for alberges, because Hostel Croydon was the worst of all the alberges I went in my life. The rooms are not at all like the pictures. It had mouse in the House. I have detesté!

In mi opinión este albergue is parece más has an antro has an albergue.
El recepcionista me obligó a pagar in metálico porque cobrar lo con tarjeta No. the funcionaba: dije as eso No. era mi problema y que me cobrara más tarde porque si yo me gastaba el dinero than llevaba in metálico in pagar el albergue, luego tendría than ir aun cajero a sacar dinero y que me iban a cobrar comisión. Dió exactamente igual y me dijo if no. pagaba in ese momento que no me quedaba.
In la había habitación gente fumando porros y ningún tipo de seguridad vigilancia o que se encargara that esto no sucediera.
